Close Till Session

How to close POS and reconcile tills at the end of the day.

Transcript

In this video, you’ll learn how to close a till session and log out of ROLLER POS.

At the end of trading, you’ll need to close the till session to finalize cash handling for the day. Closing the till ensures your reports are accurate and your cash handling is complete.

To close the till session, select More, then Settings, go to Current Till Session, and select Close Till Session at the bottom of the screen.

Count all the cash currently in the drawer, including the float — the starting amount placed in the drawer at the beginning of the day. Enter the total into the cash value field. If you prefer, you can use the cash calculator to add up denominations. This provides a double check and helps avoid mistakes. If you use the calculator, you’ll see a confirmation screen before the till closes.

After entering the total cash amount, select Submit to close the till session. You’ll then see a summary of the till session, including total payments and any variance between counted and expected cash. If there is a variance, review it carefully. You may need to escalate to your manager, especially if the difference is significant.

You can print a copy of the till closure report if required. Managers or business owners can also access a digital version in Venue Manager, ROLLER’s back-office system.

Finally, log out of POS. This keeps the terminal secure and ensures any actions after your shift aren’t recorded under your name.

You’ve now closed the till session, reviewed the summary, and logged out, keeping your records accurate and the POS secure. Nice work — you now know the key steps to close out with confidence.
