Sell memberships at POS to grow your loyal guest base and drive repeat visits.
In this video, you'll learn how to sell both fixed and recurring memberships at POS.
Recurring memberships require card authorization and are only available with roller payments.
Start by selecting a membership product from the POS screen. A fixed price membership is a one time payment, while a recurring membership works like a subscription, the guest is charged on a regular schedule. In this example, we'll choose a recurring monthly membership.
By default, the membership will start today. If a guest wants a later start date, for example, at the start of school holidays, you can change the date once it's in the cart.
To change the start date, select edit next to membership start date in the cart panel and choose a date from the calendar, then select change date and continue.
The start date controls when billing and access begin for recurring memberships. Fixed price memberships always start on the day they're purchased.
Next, you'll enter the membership holder's details.
You can search for a returning guest using their name, email, or phone number, or enter new contact details to create a profile. Then select continue.
If prompted for a waiver, select the pen icon to search for and attach a signed waiver. If the guest hasn't signed yet, ask them to complete the waiver before proceeding. Once the waiver is attached, select Continue to move to the next step.
Recurring memberships require a booking agreement to be signed. You can send the agreement by text or email, or open it in a new tab to sign on screen.
The agreement confirms the guest agrees to your venue's terms and helps protect your recurring revenue. Once signed, select refresh. Then select continue to proceed with payment.
Rola requires card payment for recurring memberships. It securely stores payment details to automate future charges and reduce missed payments. If the membership start date is set to today, choose card as the payment method, then select pay and collect card details.
If the start date is in the future, select collect card details. In both cases, the guest completes authorization using the connected terminal.
When the payment is successful, you'll see the confirmation screen. From here, you can email or print the receipt, or go to the completed booking. Select Start New Sale to return to the main POS screen.
You've just sold a recurring membership. You've learned how to change the start date, send a booking agreement, and collect card authorization for ongoing payments. Great job.
