In this video, you'll learn how to set up Time-based price rules. By automatically increasing or lowering the price of sessions based on a time period, time based price rules enable you to fill quieter times, charge premiums during peak periods, and keep pricing consistent across checkout, POS, and Venue Manager.

Setting up price rules is a two-step process. First, create the price rule in the price rules page.

Then, attach it to your product variations in the product page.

Now, let's dive in and learn how to set this up. From Venue Manager, go to products, then select price rules.

Select Create price rule and choose Time-based pricing. Now let's set up your pricing tiers. First, give your rule a clear name so you can find it easily later.

Your base tier is already in place.

Remember, this is your most common pricing tier. You can use it for your peak or off peak hours depending on your setup. In this example, we'll use your base tier as our off peak pricing tier. Then we'll add two more tiers to it, peak pricing and holiday pricing. Think of these additional pricing tiers as levers you can pull to boost bookings or make the most of peak hours.

Next, define your schedule. These trigger the pricing tiers you've set up and can be based on a date range, a single day, or specific times of day. Let's start with your Base tier. This is your default price, the most common price that your guests will see.

Now let's add your pricing tiers. Think of these as the exceptions to the rule. You can use these dropdowns to assign tiers to recurring days. In this example, we'll assign Peak pricing to weekends.

Next, let's add Peak pricing to specific hours of the day. For example, you can set up evenings as peak hours.

To do this, tick set override times on the right, then choose Peak pricing for evenings between 5 PM and 9 PM.

Now let's set up our special Holiday pricing.

Let's scroll down to the bottom. Here you can use a custom date pricing rule to apply special pricing for specific dates. This is useful for public holidays, school breaks, and special events like Halloween, summer openings, or long weekends.

To set this up, select add Custom date group. Create a group name. Let's call this one Christmas holidays. Then click edit tier schedule and choose your default pricing tier.

In this example, we'll select Holiday pricing. You'll see this reflected in the tier price schedule below. Now choose your dates. This can be a single day or a range.

To select a range, select the start date and then the end date. The dates within your selected range will be highlighted. You can add another date or date range by selecting the plus button. From here, you can customize your pricing tiers just like your regular days, including setting override times for recurring days or adjusting off peak and peak hours.

Overrides always take priority. So if a holiday falls on a Monday, the override ensures the holiday rate is applied instead of your regular rates. When you're done, select Save.

Next, we'll add the rule to the products we want time based pricing to apply to. Go to Venue Manager, Products, and open the session or Standard Pass product you wanna update.

In the price rule dropdown, select the time based rule you created. The products variations table will now include columns for each tier. In this example, we're applying this rule to a sixty minute open jump session.

The base price is $20 for adults, fifteen dollars for children, and thirty $5 for a family of four. Let's add $3 to the Peak pricing. Then we'll adjust family pricing by five dollars.

Finally, we'll add $5 to our holiday prices for individuals and seven dollars to family passes.

You can tick this box to display time based price comparisons on checkout to encourage guests to book cheaper times.

When you're done, select save to apply your changes to the checkout page.

Your time based price rules should now appear on checkout. Before you go, test different booking times. Do prices change between weekdays and weekends? Do your holiday prices appear on checkout? If something doesn't look right, check that the rule is assigned to the product, and make sure all tiers have prices set for every ticket type.
