Learn how to check available guest balances, apply point redemptions, issue free products, and manage automated online reward checkouts.
When a guest walks in knowing they've earned a reward, that moment should feel smooth and effortless.
Roller makes it really easy for staff.
Once a booking holder is added to the cart, the loyalty banner appears automatically and shows exactly what's available. In this video, you'll learn how to check a loyalty guest's available rewards, redeem points and fixed discount rewards, redeem free product rewards, and understand how online redemptions work for guests.
Every smooth redemption reinforces the value of the program, and that's what brings guests back.
Let's start at POS. A guest is at the front desk and ready to pay. Select add booking holder above the cart, then search for the guest by name, email, or phone number.
The booking holder is the guest assigned to the transaction and is tied to their loyalty status in Roller.
Once the booking holder is added, check the top of the cart. If the guest has available points or rewards, a loyalty banner appears automatically.
Select view rewards to open the rewards panel.
The panel can show three things, the guest's available points and the dollar value they can redeem on their visit today, any rewards they've already unlocked and can use today, and upcoming reward milestones that the guest is progressing toward but hasn't reached yet.
Before applying anything, let the guest know what they have.
For example, you've unlocked a reward. Would you like to use it today?
For upcoming rewards, a quick mention at the front desk goes a long way. You're so close to your next reward. You might get there today.
It's a simple moment that reinforces the value of the program. If the booking holder isn't added to the cart, the loyalty banner won't appear and rewards can't be applied. Always add the booking holder before completing the sale.
Next, let's review how to redeem each type of reward at POS.
The most common reward type is a points redemption, using accumulated points as a monetary discount at checkout.
In the view rewards panel, you'll see the guest's total available points and their dollar value. To redeem the full amount, select the checkbox next to the points redemption, then select apply.
The cart updates immediately to show the adjusted total.
If the guest only wants to use part of their balance, select custom amount.
Enter the value, then select apply.
The remaining points stay on their account for a future visit.
Confirm the updated total with the guest, then complete the sale as normal.
A fixed discount reward is a set dollar amount that unlocks when a guest meets a spend or purchase milestone.
In the view rewards panel, select the fixed discount reward, then select apply.
The discount is applied to the cart automatically.
If multiple items are in the cart, a fixed discount reward is applied proportionally across eligible items.
Confirm the updated total, then complete payment as normal.
A free product reward is a specific product given at no cost when a guest meets a milestone.
In order to redeem the eligible product, the POS operator must first add the item to the cart before the reward can be applied.
Once the product has been added to the cart, select view rewards.
Select the free product reward and select apply.
The item price updates to show zero dollars in the cart.
If the cart contains multiple eligible variations, like an adult or child pass, the reward applies to the cheapest eligible variation automatically.
Confirm the total with the guest and complete payment.
When a guest completes a purchase through your online checkout while signed into their account, Roller handles redemption automatically.
Eligible rewards and points are applied automatically at checkout, and guests can review, remove, or re add them before completing their purchase.
You've just learned how to check loyalty guests rewards at POS, redeem points and fixed discount rewards, redeem free product rewards, and understand how online redemptions work for guests. Every redemption is a moment where the guest sees the loyalty program paying off, and that's what brings them back for the next visit.
